Background of the Study
The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed business operations, with e-commerce emerging as a vital tool for small businesses to reach broader markets. In Nigeria, the adoption of e-commerce platforms such as Jumia, Konga, and social media platforms has allowed small businesses to enhance their visibility, improve customer service, and increase sales (Adebayo & Yusuf, 2023).

In Bauchi State, boutique owners face challenges such as limited foot traffic and competition from larger retailers. E-commerce adoption offers a viable solution by enabling businesses to operate beyond physical boundaries and cater to customers' preferences for convenience and variety (Olayemi & Bello, 2024). However, the extent to which e-commerce adoption influences the performance of small businesses in this context remains underexplored.

Statement of the Problem
Despite the increasing adoption of e-commerce platforms, many small businesses in Bauchi State struggle with factors such as digital literacy, inconsistent internet connectivity, and inadequate marketing strategies. As a result, the potential benefits of e-commerce adoption on business performance are not fully realized.
